Abstract

This study reports the application of deep eutectic solvents (DES), as a new generation of environmentally friendly solvents for the emulsification liquid-liquid microextraction of allura red in food samples. The DES used in this work was synthesized with choline chloride and phenol (molar ratio 1:4). Affecting parameters such as volume of DES, volume of tetrahydrofuran (THF), pH and ultrasonic-extraction time were optimized by central composite design (CCD). Under optimized conditions, the calibration curve was linear in the concentration range from 15-1200 μg/L, relative standard deviation (RSD) and limit of detection were obtained 3.59% and 4.31 μg/L, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied for preconcentration and determination of allura red in food samples.
