چکیده مقاله

The development of efficient, cost–effective, and stable bifunctional electrocatalysts for overall water splitting is of paramount importance in alkaline mediums. In this study, we report the synthesis of the CdTiO3 nanoparticles using the simple low–temperature sol–gel approach. CdTiO3 as an electrodic material exhibits enhanced catalytic performance, advantageous reaction kinetics, and remarkable longevity for both the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The nanostructured CdTiO3 demonstrates the overpotentials of 270 and 320 mV to attain a current density of 10 mA cm−2 for OER and HER in 1.0 M KOH electrolyte, respectively. It reveals the low Tafel slope values of 63 and 79 mV dec−1 for OER and HER, respectively. This work proposes a sustainable strategy for developing enhanced bifunctional electrocatalysts for hydrogen fuel production via overall water splitting, which has the potential to replace noble metals in a wide range of renewable energy systems.
