Abstract

Due to the unbelievable growth of Schiff base catalysts utilization in chemical syntheses, the importance of their support on solid substrates, especially biocompatible ones, has increased. In this study, stabilized cobalt-based Schiff catalysts were first immobilized on nanocellulose via synthesis. Then, they were characterized by FT-IR, H NMR, EDX, and SEM. Among these developed catalysts containing cobalt-based bis (imino) pyridine, the catalyst with a crown ether substitute showed superior catalytic activity for oxidation of sulfides to the corresponding r sulfones and sulfoxides. It is worth noting that these catalysts can be recycled and reused several times without reducing their efficiency.
