Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop a selective and sensitive electrochemical sensor for indirect measurement of valine by a glassy carbon electrode. Hydroquinone acts as a probe. The electrochemical behavior of hydroquinone in the presence of an amino acid on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode indicates that hydroquinone is converted to quinone during a two electron/proton reaction. The amino acid with quinone in michael addition reaction. The differential pulse voltammetry demonstrated a linear range and limit of detection of valine concentration from 1.22×10-11 to 9.7×10-11 and 1.44×10-10 to 1.12×10-9 and 9.80×10-12 M. Behavior and a high level stability during the experiments, making it particularly suitable for the analytical purposes.
