On the moment estimation of an inverse Gaussian deteriorating system subject to an imperfect maintenance

Abstract

This paper studies a degrading system that its deterioration level is modeled by an inverse Gaussian process. The system undergoes preventive imperfect maintenance actions in each period of time T. The maintenance action removes ρ% of the degradation accumulated from the last maintenance action. We develop the moment estimation method in the framework of the proposed imperfect repair model, in order to estimate the model parameters.
