Abstract
The role of plant nutrition with macro and micro elements is not
hidden from anyone. Although the consumption of microelements in
plants is low, this does not mean that they are less important in the
process of plant growth and development. In saffron, little research has
been done regarding the effects and amount of these elements, so it is
necessary to conduct research in this field. Considering that there are
very few studies especially about manganese and copper elements,
therefore, in this article, an attempt has been made to evaluate the
importance and the few results of research in this field on saffron.
Based on this, during the last few years, a series of studies have been
designed and carried out in University of Torbat Heydarieh and
Saffron Institute on the effects of micro elements on quantitative and
qualitative performance in the form of student theses and research
projects. According to the results, the role of manganese element in
improving the quality of saffron and the role of copper element in
improving the quantity of stigma has been determined.
