Dr. Hamid Masoudi is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the Faculty of Literature and Humanities, University of Birjand. He received his PhD in Economic Sociology and Development from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. His academic interests focus on the sociology of inequality and poverty, family sociology, health sociology, environmental sociology, social entrepreneurship, and research methodology.
Dr. Masoudi is actively engaged in teaching, research, and academic service. His work explores social structures, social issues, and the dynamics of contemporary social change, with an emphasis on applying sociological research to real-world social and policy challenges. He teaches courses in family sociology, urban and environmental sociology, economic sociology, social inequalities, population studies, and quantitative and qualitative research methods.
In addition to his teaching and research activities, he has participated in several research councils, policy advisory groups, and university committees related to social development and youth affairs. He has led and collaborated on multiple externally funded research projects commissioned by governmental and public institutions, addressing topics such as youth employment and entrepreneurship, urban services evaluation, fertility preferences, and social impacts of development programs.
Dr. Masoudi has received several academic recognitions, including the Outstanding Researcher Award from the University of Birjand and the National Award for Excellence in Collaboration with Society and Industry from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran.
