Abstract

In the field of drugs and pharmaceuticals, Hantzsch 1,4-dihydropyridines (1,4-DHPs) and their derivatives represent a significant class of bioactive molecules [1]. In recent decades, bimetallic catalysts have been getting more attention in academic and industrial applications. The electronic effect, along with structural changes, helps them to act as a better catalyst than their monometallic counterparts [2]. By supporting the catalysts on the surface of Fe3O4 NPs, they can be easily separated from the reaction medium using a magnet [3]. In our study, we synthesized a magnetically recyclable copper/nickel bimetallic nanocatalyst (Fe3O4@SiO2@L/Cu-Ni) with high performance for the Hantzsch reaction
