Abstract

In this research, Cu(II)-immobilized on functionalized magnetic nano-fibrillated cellulose has been prepared via the incorporation of Cu(OAc)2 with cyclohxeyldiamine-aminated epichlorohydrin (Fe3O4@NFC/E-CHDA-CuII). The structural and morphological of the as-prepared catalyst were characterized by different techniques such as FT-IR, SEM, TEM, TGA, ICP-OES and VSM analysis. The catalytic activity of new magnetic nanocatalyst (Fe3O4@NFC/ECH-CHDA-CuII) was investigated in the multi-component one-pot reaction of aromatic aldehydes, 1, 3 cyclohexanediones and malononitrile for preparation of tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyrans under solvent-free conditions at ambient temperature. The practical reusability of the nanocatalyst was also observed at the end of the reaction, so that in all the cases, the catalyst could be easily recovered magnetically for at least five runs and the obtained product was isolated using a simple workup procedure.
