Abstract

Creativity is a concept that is difficult to define and even more difficult to measure. The aim of this study was to examine the possible relation of emotional intelligence of translation trainees and their level of creativity in translation. For so doing, 71 undergraduate translation students participated in this study. For doing the study, the participants were asked to fill the Emotional Intelligence Questionnaires. They were also asked to translate 30 English sentences into Persian. The analysis of this study was done using SPSS (22) and Smart PLS (3.0) software. The findings indicated that although there was no general correlation between emotional intelligence traits and translators’ creativity in translation, some of the emotional intelligence traits like emotion perception was demonstrated to have significant effects on the creativity of translator in translation.
