چکیده مقاله

Oscillatory flow can be observed in the presence of one and also two self-excited jets issuing into a cavity. Until now no investigation has been done on a dual self-excited jet. Therefore, the present work numerically studies a dual self-excited jet from point of view of oscillation characteristics, pressure and velocity distributions and compares to a single self-excited jet. The numerical simulation was carried out by OpenFOAM code for a single self-excited jet and a dual self-excited jet which both have the same flow rate. Results indicate that employing the dual self-excited jet is able to increase the oscillation frequency and decrease the value of oscillation amplitude in comparison with a single self-excited jet. Indeed, the interactions between two flow jets in the dual self-excited jet prevent from fully flapping motion. Also, the results show the values of velocity are generally lower in the dual self-excited jet than the single self-excited jet although the same flow rate enters the cavity for both cases. The flow field of the single self-excited jet is symmetric around the central axis of cavity while the dual self-excited jet displays asymmetric behavior.
