Abstract
One of the major issues that has recently received a lot of attention with the development of electronic tools and the subsequent creation of web-based communication platforms is the issue of virtual fame, or in its advanced model, celebrity. The present study seeks to investigate the factors affecting the use of social networks in acquiring virtual fame by explaining the theory of planting. This study is applied in terms of purpose and is descriptive and conducted with a survey method based on the Likert scale. This study was collected with a sample of 384 students of the Islamic Azad University, Kermanshah Branch. Structural equation modeling using Smart-Pls software was used to analyze the research data. The results of the study showed that there is a significant relationship between different dimensions of social software and acquiring virtual fame, and among these factors, the use of social network functions has the greatest impact on individuals' acquiring virtual fame.
