چکیده مقاله
This paper aims to discuss the streaming of translated digital games by examining the emotional experiences of viewers and streamers through the lens of Interaction Ritual Theory, given the social dynamics within the stream. Two gameplay streams featuring the translated video game Outlast were selected for a detailed analysis of the interactions between the streamer and viewers, as well as their reactions to the translation element in the game. The analyses reveal the nuances of the social dynamics between the streamer and viewers and offer insights into how engagement patterns were built. Additionally, the paper examines the reactions of both the streamer and viewers to the game’s translation, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the localization and its impact on player experience and immersion.
