Abstract

In this paper, an adaptive proportional integral (PI) controller is used to regulate output voltage of the KY boost converter. The most conventional controller in different industries is PI controller. In order to use the PI controller in non-linear systems, the linearization around operation point is needed and this method is valid just around the operation point. Instead of using this method, adaptive PI controller is presented which can be simply applied on non-linear systems. In this paper, an adaptive gain PI controller is presented to control the output voltage of the KY boost converter. It must be highlighted that most of previous researches on KY converter are based on classical PI controller. However, the contribution of this paper is presenting a Lyapunov-based adaptive controller for KY boost converter for the first time. The validation of proposed method is tested practically. As the results show, the proposed method can track output voltage around 2 times faster and the over-shoot does not appear.
